Sorry

Sorry I have not been around to post much... have not really even been online. Needless to say not much is going on with the boys. John is just everywhere and taking up all my time that when I do have free time I am doing laundry, reading or sleeping. Brandon is still trying to crawl. He is a mystery to me... he can go from a laying position to a sitting position to standing but will not crawl. He is a mess. I will post some pics soon. Have not been taking much, I am off my game :-)

Warm formula...

Ok, so I tried just warming up the milk one minute instead of a minute twenty.... Brandon took to it after a while but John had nothing to do with it. He would taste it and see it was not warm and turn his head. Today I had it at room temp and Brandon took most of it and then didn't want it and John of course didn't take it at all. Then after Brandon drank his room temp formula he spit up...
I just don't really know what to do. I have about two months for then to get use to room temp formula so I can introduce whole milk.
Just wanted to give an update :-)

Lots of things in one post

Alright all you wise moms out their... I need advice and input!

The boys are 9 months old... lots of things are changing and since I am not one to read parenting books (don't get mad) I am at a loss. Can you help me out?

Brian and I are trying to get them to take two naps a day but in the end they get so fussy around 6:45-7pm that we put them down and wake them back up for their bath and night bottle. Should we just give them a bath and bottle earlier?

They are holding their own bottle (for the most part) but they are laying down on a pillow.... how do I get them to sit up and drink their bottle?

We are starting to feed them finger food, I have been procrastinating on my part.... I hate to grocery shop... anyhow, we are starting but I don't know how much food the boys should be eating. They get 4-8 ounce bottles of formula a day and drink most of it but I don't know how much 3rd foods or finger foods I should be giving them.

When should I start trying to put their formula in a sippy cup? Should I, and if so should it still be warmed?

Our pedi said we could start whole milk around 11 months because we will be going out of town for their year birthday and I do not want to take cans of formula... do I warm the milk up too? When do you stop warming up formula to get them use to cold stuff? Do you?

Our new play area!!
Since John is crawling and Brandon is scooting we have moved into their playroom... finally Thanks Grandpa and Nana for the fun playzone

Our trip to see the great grandparents:
It was an awesome trip. The boys got to meet the entire family on my moms side. It was great to see them not get too scared around other adults and children.
We drove around 9 hours up to see them in the middle of the night and the boys did wonderful. They slept the whole way and when we got there they went back to sleep till it was time for their breakfast! We just really hung out around the house and had many visitors. It was nice to get out of Houston after the hurricane!

9 months a few days late...

I can not believe that the boys are 9 months old... only 3 months till they are a YEAR OLD. How crazy! I have to start thinking about their birthday party!

Things they are doing:
saying their B's and M's, no real words yet.
holding their own bottle
eating 3rd foods
standing in their cribs
laughing and smiling
sitting in bath seats
loving looking into the mirror
loving being outside
2 nap days (most days)
liking bigger toys
loving the dogs when they lick their hands after a meal
talk to each other, really scream but are truly interacting!
finger foods they have tried include banana, gerber puffs, cherrios, potato, butter beans, crackers and peas (Brandon has taken to them, John has not!)

Brandon is laughing and loving life right now. He is trying so hard to crawl, not there yet but hopefully soon. Tries to pull up all the time. He is talking more and really seems like a happy little guy. He is loving finger foods now.... he is my garbage can :-)
Brandon weighs 20 pounds 13 pounces and is 27 3/4 inches long

John is everywhere and in everything. He has found the doggy door, cords and follows daddy to the bath at bath time. He always wants to be with you and does not like to go to sleep at nap time. It is a struggle to get him down but mom and dad win in the end.
John is 19 pounds 5.9 ounces and 27 1/2 inches long

I really am loving this age, they are so much fun and it has been such a blessing that they learned to hold their bottle. I just can not wait for Brandon to crawl because he sees his brother and wants to be with him getting into everything.

Out of Town

The boys, their grandma and I are off to visit their great grandparents till Sunday. They live in a small town so I will most likely not be able to get online all week. I will post pictures of our trip when we get back!!!

Catching up

Brandon had his first bought with throw up on Wednesday. We we on our way to restock our fridge and freezer when he threw up everywhere! John has stood up in his crib and fallen over as well.
The boys had their first bath together Thursday in their bath seats.
They started 3rd foods today... they had spaghetti with meat sauce
