ENT Update

Brian and I took John to the ENT today and he was such a CHAMP! Never cried and sat still for the doctor to examine him (it's a first). The doc said that his mouth is small so everything is closer together and his tonsils are a little inflamed. She said he should not be snoring the way he does or waking up at night the way he does. She recommended a sleep study and then a review of the results and scheduling an appointment to get his tonsils and adenoids removed. It is a lot to take in and we will be doing some research but we think John is headed to surgery!

We will be getting a second opinion just to be on the safe side.

Some photo's

I have been trying to take some more pictures lately because I have been forgetting to take my camera with me so I don't have a lot of January pictures.

My boys!!! Washing momma's car and getting REALLY REALLY wet!

Getting warm after getting really really wet.

Early Valentines Gift
They love it!

They are really into watching home videos or looking at pictures on the computer!
On a side note, my brother and sister-in-law bought Brian a beer making kit for Christmas... here it is!

I have baby fever.... I don't know why, well actually I do. I have friends pregnant, just had babies, or even trying. I guess it is rubbing off! I just want a little girl. I know it will pass but I had to say it

This coming Wednesday I am taking my little man John to see an ENT. For the longest time now he has been snoring and I mean SNORING! You can hear him through the monitor even when it is on its lowest setting. He is also having a lot of interrupted sleep, I don't think the snoring has anything to do with it but you never know till you find out. I have been worried about this for awhile now but didn't see any sign of sleep apnea so I did not really want to deal with taking him to the doctor. Well since ECI came out and told me how hearing, speech, all that stuff in your head is all connected I decided to go ahead and make the appointment. I truly think everything is fine and this appointment will only confirm my thoughts but if not I would rather get things fixed now so John can be a happy little man!

I decided to see if Brandon could say his ABC's. We think he said more than 50% of the letters. Sorry for the dark video but it was right before bed time and the lights were off and John was watching his video, which you can hear in the background!

We started January off with a BANG! After the boys 2 year check-up we have been super busy. Going to play groups, birthdays, going back to MDO, getting new toys and trying out new places.
It has been super cold in Houston lately so we have been spending a lot of time inside and of course got cabin fever very fast so Brian and I got the boys a new toy and HAD to try it out. The weather has been getting progressively warmer (in the 40's in the afternoons)!!

Since it still is a little chilly out we decided to try out a new place to play at. It is called Wonder Wild. It was not very crowded and we invited a few friends to join in on the fun. The boys had a blast and we spent a record amount of time there. Usually the boys get tired, bored, or fussy 45 minutes into events that run into the 11:30am hour. They were in great moods today!

Jumpoline!!!!! SO FUN

Of course the day was not complete with out doing some sort of painting. We got to try out our new easel and accessories.

So needless to say 2010 has started off GREAT!

Ready for bed

Last night the boys were all about DADDY! Of course I love it and love seeing that they all can sit together and read without bickering!

John has been having some sleep issues so we go into the boys room quite a bit and this is what we saw... Brandon was learning through osmosis!

2 year check up

The boys had their 2 year check-up on Wednesday. Things went really well and they are healthy and happy. They also got their first of two H1N1 shots.

33 1/2 inches tall (25:50%)
26 pounds (25%) --the string bean!
He is going to be seen by ECI (early childhood intervention) for his speech, he is a tad behind in saying words.
His words consist of: roll, ball, more, da, bu, bull, wa, duck, brea, tuc, blac, cha... he is trying so hard but he just cant seem to finish words, he starts and stops in the middle of the word.
The doc says that he is doing great but we want to be proactive if he needs some help.

34 3/4 inches tall (50-75%)
32 pounds -- (75-90%)
Brandon is doing great. He is saying anything and everything!
His words consist of: truck, roll, snack, cheese, chalk, more, why, no, bus, keys, ball, black, hot, boom, train, dada, run, juice, please, mow, rock and many more!
They are both into play dough and trucks. Brandon is having issues with the bath while John is a water baby! They both are becoming so independent, they want to drink out of real cups... which is such a issue. They stay awake in bed at night and play, can open and close any door, love to be outside barefoot, and are fascinated with fire! There is probably much more that they are into right now that I can think of.... this was just a few things that my two year old boys are doing!!!
