First Day

Well the first day of all table food has gone alright!
Lets see... for breakfast they had oatmeal with applesauce, for lunch they had cheese, chicken and yogurt and dinner.... hmmm...didn't go so well. I had squash and raspberries ready for them. Brandon loved the squash but the raspberries were a little tart, even for me. John hated it all, of course! So I got out some cheese and still John was not having any. I ended up mixing in cheerios with everything and he is eating some of it. John is going to be a challenge but we will keep trying. Brandon is so easy its not even funny!!!

Happy Halloween

Hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween!!

John-- I just love this photo

On a different note: one year ago today these little boys put me on bed rest. It is so weird to think back and remember days like this. I can remember laying on the couch while Brian answered the door for all the cute little trick or treaters. I am so excited this year I will be able to answer the door and enjoy Halloween.

Food

I have been talking to some moms and decided it was time to switch to all table food. Today I went and bought green beans, broccoli, peas, mango, peaches, blueberries, mandarin oranges, apples, bananas, squash, rice, Gerber pasta meals, cheese and some yogurt. I think this is a start and I am excited but really nervous to start giving them only table food and their formula. Wish us luck as John is still unsure about table food!!

10 months old

Our boys are 10 months old today!!! I can not believe that in 2 months they will be a year old. We are talking about birthdays which is blowing my mind that that conversation is even going on! John is our little spitfire. He is on the go and we are loving it. He is such a red head and has to have his way :-) Brandon is so sweet and has such a hearty genuine laugh. He has started crawling and is now going the opposite way of John. They do however play together now and take each other toys and pester each other, it is so adorable.

Video of Brandon Crawling

Tuesday, October 21, 2008

Yeah.. finally

Brandon is officially crawling. It is so funny because he has been scooting for weeks now but I think he has been able to do it for a long time but just prefers scooting on his tummy. I say officially because he is taking more than 3-4 crawls every time now and some times falls and scoots! I am so excited he can get where his brother is and play with him now. They are everywhere but have yet to go in two different directions!!!

**** Brandon also is cutting his 5th tooth! So the count is: Brandon=5 and John=6****

random photos

Don't know why the first two pictures are upside down but they are still cute. Loving John's hair and of course Brandon with his paci... don't know what I am going to do about that.

Love these outfits from baby gap... John's says PERFECT (just like my dad) and Brandon's says I'm bringing CHUBBY back

a fun day

Sunday while daddy was at the Texans game, my mom invited us over to unwrap one of the boys birthday presents. But before we could get to it the boys found the window...

Here is one of their birthday gifts from my parents. They loved riding in the wagon and playing with each other. It is so much better than the stroller because they can actually interact and keep each other occupied.

SHOES

The boys are wearing shoes for the first time today!!! The weather down here in Houston is getting cooler so I thought it was time. We have the shoes that just slip on but these were too cute to pass up. Took about 10 minutes getting them on!!!

Sleep

The boys are driving me crazy.... not because they are being bad or anything but I just can not figure them out! Since Monday Brandon has taken his first nap around 9:45 and sleeps till about 10:30 or like today 11am John has been falling asleep at 10 and sleeping till noon or like today 11:15am. It use to be where they would also take an afternoon nap and go back down around 1:45-2pm and sleeps till 3:30ish.The problem is neither one of them want to take an afternoon nap. They just play in their cribs or cry. I can not seem to get them to go to sleep then they are either clingy or fussy around 6pm. They go to bed around 7:30pm and wake up anywhere between 6:30 and 7:15am. Should they be on a one nap schedule because if so I really think I am going to go crazy!!

Also look what came in the mail yesterday!

Brandon

I am dedicating this post to Brandon... he got his first haircut yesterday (10-14). We are having family photos done next week so we decided Brandon really needed a haircut. He did so well. No crying as we gave him his paci and alot of puffs. he now has no sideburns and no hair in his eyes. The coolest things is the lady that cuts Brian's hair since he was about 5 years old got to cut Brandon's... so neat

Before: (look at those sideburns)

After: no more hair is his face

Another round of questions...

Alright moms... here I am again with my head swimming trying to figure out how to raise my kiddos. Since my mom says I was born way back when and things were done so much different she is not that much help (love ya mom)!!! So first off I will tell you how some things are going.

1. We are going good with getting their formula down to room temperature.
2. Finger foods are going well. Brandon will eat just about anything except cooked egg yolk and sometimes yogurt. John is still a little leery on finger food but loves cheerios, puffs and goldfish.
3. We will soon be starting them sitting in their highchairs and give them a bottle to help with their arm and neck muscles so they can start sitting up with a bottle.
4. Sippy cups are doing great but they still just mostly play with them. They do know how to suck from a straw and a spout!

OK, now for the questions.
1. I have gotten a lot of help on this one but want everyones help... we are going to Colorado the day after the boys turn 1. What should I pack, what will help them with their first flight?
2. I am a person of convenience... that means Brian and I eat pre-made meal ALOT (I know, I am so bad). Anyhow, that means we do not have alot of fresh food around the house and I really don't know what to feed the boys. I am reading the Super Baby Food Book but it tells me I have to cook alot. So give me some suggestions on what to feed them now that they are eating finger food.
3. What in the world does a 1 year old eat? I am loosing my mind on what I am going to feed them once baby food is gone. HELP ME PLEASE!! And when do you stop 3rd foods, there is not a good selection of them anyways.

I have got down how to change, dress and play with the boys but keeping them from starving is boggling my mind. I just have no clue how to feed them without formula and baby food. HOW SAD!

Second Time

Well I had to take the boys to the doctor today and found out the are in the middle of a cold. So this is their second time being sick in 9 months.... well really 8 months since the 1st month they were hanging out in a sterile environment. Anyhow sick twice is not too shabby! They are pretty fussy and can not breath well through their nose and have a little cough but other than that we are making it. I still blame Ashley and Cassi ;-)
Some much needed pictures of the boys! I can not believe I have to start thinking of their birthday party soon!!!

They love the window, they could spend all day there Hanging out at the lake being fed BBQ by daddy
First wagon ride
They escaped!!!!
